Wisconsin.in is a static travel guide. It does not have accounts, does not require a login, and does not sell or share personal data. This page explains the small amount of information your browser keeps in order to make the site work.
What is stored in your browser
The site uses your browser's own storage — cookies, local storage or session storage — for a short list of purposes:
- Preferences. If you filter a list of experiences or open a section, the site may remember that choice so it is still set when you come back.
- Last-viewed content. A single value noting which region or destination you looked at most recently, so a returning visit can pick up where you left off.
- Basic visit statistics. First-party counters used to understand which pages are read. These stay on your device or are aggregated; they are not advertising profiles.
All of this is set by this site itself. There are no third-party advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels and no analytics scripts from external providers on any page.
What is not collected
- No accounts, passwords or payment details — the site takes none.
- No precise location. Region and season guidance is generic, not based on where you are.
- No contact form submissions. The published contact address works through your own email client, and nothing about a message is stored on this site.
Contact address
The contact email in the footer is stored in the page script as a numeric character array and assembled only when you click "Show email address". It is deliberately not present in the page markup, which keeps it away from automated address harvesters. Clicking it does not send us anything; it only reveals the address so you can write from your own mail application.
Images and third-party requests
All photographs on this site are served from this domain. Pages do not load remote fonts, scripts, style sheets or images from external networks. No Cloudflare Insights or other beacon script is installed.
How to clear what is stored
You can clear site data at any time from your browser settings — usually under Privacy, "Cookies and other site data", or by selecting the padlock icon in the address bar. Clearing it removes preferences and counters, and the site continues to work normally.
Accuracy of travel information
Opening hours, prices, tour schedules and ferry timetables change. Everything here is checked when a page is updated, but you should always confirm critical details with the venue or park before travelling. Wisconsin.in is independent and is not affiliated with Travel Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin System, or any business or institution mentioned.
